Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kreisi Bailaaja!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pentti Ali!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Sergei Dronov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Bailaaja, right into the meat.
Ali looks to score with a jab to the body but Bailaaja is just out of range.
Ali tests Bailaaja's chin there with a solid looking shot.


It looks like Kreisi Bailaaja has been cut.
Bailaaja on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Ali tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bailaaja was well out of range. Poor timing from Ali.
Ali throws a predictable looking body shot
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Ali misses with an attempted mid kick.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Bailaaja, right into the meat.

Bailaaja shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Bailaaja stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ali swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bailaaja wants to control from the top but Ali keeps moving.
Ali is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Bailaaja drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ali dives on top into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Bailaaja is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ali defends well.
Bailaaja has a closed guard, preventing Ali from standing up.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Bailaaja has his foot on Ali's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ali works his way back into a safe position though.

Bailaaja wants to improve his position but instead Ali has moved into half guard.
Bailaaja is looking to control Ali's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bailaaja avoid being mounted?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Bailaaja is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ali pulls his head out easily.
Bailaaja tries to get to full guard but Ali has control of the leg.
Bailaaja gets back to full guard.
Bailaaja has a closed guard, preventing Ali from standing up.

Bailaaja working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ali doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ali manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Ali got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bailaaja has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ali has managed to get both his arms back between Bailaaja's legs - danger averted.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ali wants to get up but he can't break Bailaaja's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Bailaaja has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Ali doesn't defend quickly enough and Bailaaja has managed to lock this one up! Can Ali escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Bailaaja on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Kreisi Bailaaja!
