PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Warren Train (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Bustros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Warren Train!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Chuck Bustros!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Sam Margolis and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Train throws a looping overhand right but Bustros ducks down to avoid it.
Bustros throws a right and a left that both miss.
Bustros tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Train paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bustros swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Train drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Train trying to control the position from guard on top but Bustros is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Train thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Bustros is trying to control the position but Train postures up.
Train wants to control from the top but Bustros keeps moving.
Train's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Train trying to control but Bustros is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Train thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Train has gone for a leg lock! Bustros slips out almost immediately though and dives into Train's guard.
Train is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Train looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bustros stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Bustros checks a leg kick.
Bustros takes one to the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Train listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Bustros looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Train moves out of range of the leg kick from Bustros.
Bustros shoots for a double leg takedown but Train sprawls well. He's pushed Bustros's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Bustros shoots in but no luck this time.
Bustros wants to clinch.
Train lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Train throws a hook to the side of Bustros's head but Bustros sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Train ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bustros moves away.
Train throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Bustros stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Bustros looks gassed!
Train punishes Bustros's body with a nice straight punch.
Train connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Bustros's hands.

Bustros gets caught flat footed, as Train shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Train tries to free his leg and advance position but Bustros is retaining full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Train drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Train jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Train seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Train trying to control but Bustros is working from the bottom.
Train wants to pass the guard but Bustros is keeping the position.
Train passes Bustros's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Train passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Bustros!
Train controlling the position easily from mount.

Train has control of Bustros's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Bustros regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Train working for a guillotine from mount but Bustros is in no mood to give up.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Train is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Bustros to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Bustros shrugs it off.

Train is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Bustros has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Train is working for a guillotine from mount but Bustros frees his head quite easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Warren Train dominated that round.
That's time! Train's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Bustros tries to clinch but Train moves out of range.
Bustros on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Bustros changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Train tries to avoid it but Bustros manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Train to the ground. Train escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Train fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bustros manages to avoid it.
Train swats away the attempt to clinch by Bustros.
Train scores with a body shot.
Train throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Bustros uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Train.
Bustros tries to clinch but Train moves out of range.
Bustros with a lazy takedown attempt
and Train counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Bustros tries to clinch up.
Bustros is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Train scores a takedown into full mount!

Train is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Bustros is surviving well by controlling Train's body position as best he can.

Train is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Bustros is forced to tap! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Warren Train!
