Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eric McDowell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Pepper! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pepper looks for a takedown but McDowell sprawls well. Pepper darts in and clinches McDowell up against the cage. McDowell lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Pepper looking for submissions off his back. Pepper looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Pepper is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McDowell pulls his head out easily. Pepper is looking to improve his position.
Pepper makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Pepper. McDowell trying to control but Pepper is working from the bottom.

McDowell manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Pepper wants to get back to his feet but McDowell is in a dominant position and won't allow it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. McDowell in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McDowell wants to control from the top but Pepper keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pepper is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. McDowell is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Pepper has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. McDowell is looking to defend but Pepper has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for McDowell! Pepper pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, McDowell taps out and this one is all over!
