Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Shoot Hop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Francisco Guillerdo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Guillerdo is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Digital Animal. Francisco Guillerdo is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Shoot Hop! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Francisco Guillerdo! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Thiago Cunha and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hop with a lazy takedown attempt and Guillerdo counters with a single leg into guard. Hop didn't expect that. Hop looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Guillerdo controlling from the top position. Guillerdo is pushing down on Hop's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hop is fighting to maintain full guard but Guillerdo has managed to sneak the leg through. Guillerdo has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Guillerdo takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Guillerdo is looking for the choke from the back position but Hop is controlling his hands well. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Guillerdo controlling the position well here. Hop rolled but Guillerdo kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guillerdo working for the choke. Guillerdo patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Guillerdo seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Hop's chin but Hop turns very nicely into Guillerdo's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Hop.
Guillerdo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hop is aware though and is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Guillerdo holds on and takes a little breather. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hop looking to sit in guard and control but Guillerdo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Guillerdo works a leg free and moves into half guard. Guillerdo not doing much here.
Guillerdo's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Guillerdo passes to side control. Guillerdo takes a little break here. Hop wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Guillerdo is trying to get an arm triangle but Hop is defending well. Guillerdo controlling the position. You can see the frustration on Hop's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hop is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Guillerdo asserts his dominance and retains side control. Guillerdo advances to full mount. Guillerdo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Guillerdo working for a submission but Hop is keeping him at bay. Guillerdo controlling the position easily from mount. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Francisco Guillerdo dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Hop just misses with a punch to the body.
Guillerdo clinches. Guillerdo ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Guillerdo no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Guillerdo has Hop pulled in close to control his posture. Hopis looking to pass into half guard but Guillerdo pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Guillerdo is in guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Guillerdo controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hop not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Nice shot by Guillerdo. Shoot Hop seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Guillerdo cracks Hop with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Guillerdo has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Hop to stand back up!
Hop is rocked!
It looks like Shoot Hop has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Guillerdo closes the distance looking for a takedown. Guillerdo picks Hop up and slams him brutally to the floor. Hop is out! He's out cold! Wow, you don't see a finish like that every day!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). Francisco Guillerdo! In his post fight interview, Francisco Guillerdo started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
