7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bobby Sparks! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sparks lands a two punch combo.
Sparks attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Sparks closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. LePew dodges an elbow strike from Sparks.
Sparks gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Sparks prevents LePew from improving his position. Sparks wants to control but LePew is keeping him busy. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! LePew actively working from the bottom here. Sparks wants to free his trapped foot but LePew is holding on for dear life with his legs. The fighters are battling for position here. That's three minutes gone in the round. LePew is not content to let Sparks control the position. Sparks perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Sparks looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's four minutes gone in the round. LePew is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Sparks scores with a couple of nice shots. Sparks controlling the pace. LePew works his way to full guard. Good work. Sparks loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Sparks keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of LePew's head. LePew keeping moving, preventing Sparks from controlling successfully. LePew looking for a sweep. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sparks keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of LePew's head. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. LePew tries to land a sweep but no joy. LePew is looking for a triangle but Sparks pushes his legs off easily.
LePew had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sparks defends it easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Sparks cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. The fighters circling - Sparks throws out the jab but it was never going to land. The fight moves into the clinch position. Sparks gets a trip takedown into half guard. Sparks is trying to control the action in half guard but LePew is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. LePew regains full guard. Nicely done. Sparks wants to control from the top but LePew keeps moving. Sparks throws an elbow that misses. LePew uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Sparks's guard. Nice move by LePew! Sparks had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. LePew defends it easily. LePew sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sparks's guard.

LePew passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Sparks! Sparks tries to reverse the position but LePew maintains control. LePew is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Sparks to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Sparks shrugs it off. Sparks trying desperately to get to his feet.
LePew looking to control and managing it successfully. Sparks sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Sparks trying to control from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sparks looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. LePew trying to control the action but Sparks is working from the bottom. Sparks is looking to improve his position.
LePew has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Sparks defend it? LePew steps over the head and cranks it - Sparks is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for LePew!
