PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lee Stroud (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Moss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Moss has chosen Foo Fighters - Best of You as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lee Stroud!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Randy Moss!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Alyssa Summers and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stroud closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Stroud lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Moss is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Stroud postures up in Moss's guard and throws a big left but Moss blocks it.
Stroud postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Moss can't keep his opponent in guard - Stroud advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Stroud stalling away here and it's allowed Moss to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Moss throws a sloppy head kick and Stroud moves out of range easily.
Moss wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Stroud shoots in looking for a takedown but Moss manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Stroud's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Moss is taking a breather. Stroud says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Stroud is looking for a sweep. Moss is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Moss feints and then cracks Stroud's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Stroud down.

Moss pushes off an throws an elbow but Stroud leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Stroud shoots in looking for a takedown. Moss tries to sprawl out of it but Stroud keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Moss manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
