Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Renato Marcondes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Carvalho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcondes comes to the cage accompanied by Perry Mason. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carvalho showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Marcondes.
Carvalho plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Carvalho throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Carvalho scores with a jab. Marcondes acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Marcondes ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Marcondes moves into the clinch.
Carvalho is working for takedown but Marcondes is calmly controlling the position for now.

Carvalho decides to pull guard.

Carvalho is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Marcondes is aware though and is defending well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Marcondes drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Carvalho manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Marcondes has Carvalho in his guard.

Marcondes looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Carvalho has picked Marcondes up and slammed him! Marcondes can't keep hold of the triangle and Carvalho manages to pass to side control!

Carvalho wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Marcondes, who protects the arm well.

Carvalho turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Marcondes throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Carvalho's waist but Carvalho gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Marcondes off to one side.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Igor Carvalho hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
