Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Aluicious James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Noah Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Daniel Cesar and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. James looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Diaz drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Diaz throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as James works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

James looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

James is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
James could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

James is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Diaz defends it well.

Diaz wants to improve his position but James is controlling well.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

James is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Diaz's shoulder. That is not cool.

James has hold of Diaz's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Diaz tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - James cranks the arm and Diaz screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Diaz, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Aluicious James!
