Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Craig Whitehead (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Pelayo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 16 - 0, fighting out of London, Craig Whitehead! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter Pelayo! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Colin Fotheringham and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Whitehead throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Pelayo missing with a left hand there. Whitehead was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Pelayo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Whitehead just misses with a punch to the body.
Whitehead plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Pelayo tries to score with a low kick but Whitehead moves his leg out of the way. Pelayo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pelayo misses with a wild body shot. Whitehead shoots in but Pelayo avoids the takedown attempt easily. Whitehead uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pelayo.
The crowd cheers as Whitehead lands an impressive looking overhand right. Pelayo doesn't seem phased though. Whitehead fails in his attempt to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Whitehead lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Pelayo leaves Whitehead with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Pelayo waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Whitehead. Whitehead connects with a crisp jab. The fighters circling - Pelayo throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Whitehead throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Pelayo takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Pelayo avoids the head kick by Whitehead.
Pelayo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Pelayo's corner calls for a 1-2. Pelayo obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Pelayo takes a swing at Whitehead's ribcage but misses. Whitehead moves in looking to clinch but Pelayo pushes him off. Pelayo bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Whitehead's head. Pelayo throws a hook to the side of Whitehead's head but Whitehead sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Whitehead lands a jab. Peter Pelayo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Whitehead slips a straight right by Pelayo. Pelayo thows a leg kick but Whitehead checks it and Whitehead counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Pelayo is lucky that one didn't land flush. Whitehead keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Whitehead throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Pelayo shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Whitehead misses with an uppercut. Pelayo saw that one coming. A head kick misses from Whitehead. Pelayo tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Whitehead is able to avoid easily. Whitehead fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Craig Whitehead. That's going to take a lot out of him. Whitehead tries to move into range but Pelayo moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A big right from Pelayo misses. Whitehead shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pelayo pinned against the cage. Pelayo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pelayo misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Whitehead.

Pelayo will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Pelayo throws a head kick that misses and Whitehead counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Pelayo thinking. Pelayo sizes up Whitehead with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Whitehead shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Pelayo defends it nicely. Whitehead shoots for a takedown but Pelayo saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Whitehead lands a jab to the head.

Whitehead shoots in and bounces Pelayo off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Whitehead's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Whitehead working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Whitehead accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Pelayo working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Whitehead. Pelayo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Whitehead is looking to work some ground and pound but Pelayo has wrist control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Whitehead trying to control the position from guard on top but Pelayo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pelayo preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Whitehead in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Pelayo manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Pelayo goes for an armbar but Whitehead turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Whitehead. Craig Whitehead has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Whitehead with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Whitehead throwing strikes from guard but Pelayo blocks nicely. Pelayo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Pelayo wants to stand but Whitehead is controlling the position. Pelayo is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Whitehead is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Whitehead breaks from the clinch.
Pelayo throws a lazy head kick and Whitehead counters with a nice body kick. Peter Pelayo is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Whitehead misses with an uppercut. Pelayo saw that one coming.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Peter Pelayo. I've got Pelayo winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
