Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marvin De Leon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Weed Hopper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Marvin De Leon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Weed Hopper! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Daniel Bishop and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A looping hook to the body misses from De Leon. Hopper does a little dance to reset his feet. Hopper shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with De Leon but De Leon pushes him off and we're back to square one. De Leon throws a body kick that misses. Hopper moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. De Leon scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hopper doesn't seem bothered though. Hopper tries for a takedown but De Leon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Hopper throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around De Leon's waist but De Leon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hopper off to one side. Marvin De Leon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Weed Hopper. De Leon fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Hopper. De Leon throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
It looks like Weed Hopper has been cut. A cross from De Leon lands. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. De Leon slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Hopper avoids the body shot from De Leon.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hopper is defended easily by De Leon. De Leon clobbers Hopper with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
That's one minute gone in the round. De Leon pulls out of a head kick attempt.
De Leon leaves Hopper with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Hopper takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

and Hopper counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Hopper wants to control from the top but De Leon keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! De Leon working a defensive guard here.

Hopper drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but De Leon manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hopper has De Leon in his guard. De Leon wants to stand but Hopper is controlling his posture from full guard. Hopper throws his legs up looking for a submission but De Leon uses it to pass to side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Hopper's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. De Leon decides to take the fight back to the feet. De Leon fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hopper manages to avoid it. De Leon throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

De Leon scores with a punch to the head. De Leon lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Hopper tries for a takedown but De Leon circles away easily and De Leon counters with a left to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hopper slips a jab and a cross from De Leon.
A shot to the body from De Leon misses and Hopper counters with a nice double leg into side control. De Leon won't be happy with that. This has been an exciting period of action! Hopper working away. Hopper goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, De Leon rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Hopper's guard! Nice work there by De Leon! De Leon slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. De Leon has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Hopper escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. De Leon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hopper is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. De Leon is aware though and is defending well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marvin De Leon dominated that round. The cut man is working on Weed Hopper's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
De Leon misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Hopper misses with a takedown attempt and De Leon counters with a series of strikes. Hopper will be more careful next time no doubt. Hopper fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. De Leon sprawls well initially but Hopper persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Hopper is working for a kimura but De Leon is defending it quite comfortably.

Hopper breaks De Leon's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
De Leon wants to sweep but no luck. Hopper drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and De Leon dives on top into guard. De Leon passes Hopper's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. De Leon wants to pass the guard but Hopper is defending well. De Leon sitting and controlling from the half guard. Hopper is not content to let De Leon control the position. Hopper is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. De Leon controlling the pace. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Marvin De Leon. De Leon wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Hopper misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Marvin De Leon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Weed Hopper. Hopper shoots in but De Leon avoids the takedown attempt easily. Marvin De Leon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hopper takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. De Leon lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. De Leon throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. De Leon throws a head kick but Hopper moves out of range.

Hopper walks into a straight right hand from De Leon. Marvin De Leon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. De Leon tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hopper was well out of range. Poor timing from De Leon.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hopper shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. De Leon defends it nicely. This has been an exciting period of action! A big right from De Leon misses. De Leon throws a jab when Hopper was well out of range. De Leon fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hopper manages to avoid it. De Leon is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Hopper takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Hopper has his takedown stuffed and De Leon makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

De Leon works Hopper's body with a nice hook. Hopper takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Hopper dodges the punch combination from De Leon.

Hopper tries to move into range but De Leon moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Hopper takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. De Leon slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. De Leon lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Hopper shoots in looking for a takedown but De Leon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hopper's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hopper shoots in for a double leg but De Leon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Hopper on the wrong end of a nice hook. De Leon misses with a low kick as Hopper jumps back. Hopper misses with a takedown attempt and De Leon counters with a two punch combo. Marvin De Leon is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. De Leon throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Good leg kick by De Leon there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
De Leon tries to bum rush Hopper with a series of wild strikes but Hopper uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Hopper tries for a takedown but De Leon circles away easily and De Leon counters with a two punch combo.
That has opened up Weed Hopper's cut even more. De Leon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hopper takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
De Leon connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Hopper momentarily.

De Leon moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. De Leon misses with a low kick as Hopper jumps back. De Leon throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. De Leon defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hopper. De Leon is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hopper can do to turn this around? De Leon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

De Leon throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hopper tries for a takedown but De Leon circles away easily and De Leon counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Hopper thinking. Marvin De Leon is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Hopper fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Hopper uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by De Leon.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hopper has his takedown stuffed and De Leon counters with a lovely straight right hand!
And that's the end of the fight! Marvin De Leon showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for De Leon, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
