Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mr Charcoal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franko Begbie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Begbie is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Lonely Island - Jizz in My Pants. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Mr Charcoal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Franko Begbie!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Paul Tew and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Charcoal scores with a hook.
Charcoal fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Charcoal throws a jab when Begbie was well out of range.
Begbie takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Begbie pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Begbie.
Charcoal falls off balance throwing a combination
and Begbie counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Charcoal thinking.

Charcoal gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Begbie to score an easy takedown into full guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Charcoal is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Begbie drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Charcoal dives on top into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Charcoal missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Charcoal tries to free his leg and advance position but Begbie is retaining full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Charcoal accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Charcoal advances to half guard.
Begbie regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Charcoal.
Begbie keeping moving, preventing Charcoal from controlling successfully.
Charcoal passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Charcoal landing strikes.
Begbie avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Charcoal.

Charcoal fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Charcoal cracks Begbie with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Charcoal is chipping away with strikes.

Charcoal will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Begbie seems a little lost for a moment, as Charcoal dominates the positioning.
Charcoal with the ground and pound but Begbie regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Charcoal wants to pass to mount but Begbie is defending the position.
Charcoal wants to take a breather but Begbie is having none of it.
Charcoal thows a huge punch but Begbie dodges it nicely.

Charcoal decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Begbie fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Begbie lands a slapping body shot.
Charcoal connects with a nice looking jab.

Begbie walks into a left hand.
Nice straight punches there by Charcoal. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Charcoal.
Franko Begbie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Begbie fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Charcoal manages to avoid it.

Charcoal has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Begbie can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Begbie got a little sloppy there for a moment and Charcoal has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Begbie has managed to get both his arms back between Charcoal's legs - danger averted.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Charcoal misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Begbie throws a body kick the misses
and Charcoal counters with a straight right hand.
Begbie scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Charcoal scores with a punch to the head.
Begbie moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Begbie rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Charcoal moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Charcoal scores with a sloppy right hand. Begbie should have avoided that one.
Begbie lands a body shot.

Begbie bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Begbie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Charcoal, who protects the arm well.

Charcoal is looking to regain half guard here but Begbie keeps moving and retains side control.

Begbie is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Charcoal is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Begbie's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Begbie's back!

Charcoal somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
Charcoal is controlling the position but Begbie somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.

Charcoal is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Mr Charcoal overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Charcoal is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Charcoal looking to sit in guard and control but Begbie gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Charcoal is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Charcoal thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Begbie's head.

Charcoal is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Begbie sees it coming and defends easily.
Charcoal is keen to just control but Begbie is a slippery customer.
Charcoal looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Begbie with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Charcoal slips a nice elbow through Begbie's hands, connecting with Begbie's forehead.
Charcoal missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Charcoal wants to advance to full mount but Begbie doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Begbie keeping moving, preventing Charcoal from controlling successfully.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mr Charcoal dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Charcoal tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Begbie was well out of range. Poor timing from Charcoal.

No joy there for Begbie, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Charcoal closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Begbie to the mat! Begbie manages to get full guard.

Begbie has momentary wrist control but Charcoal slips an elbow through the middle.

Charcoal loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Charcoal throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Begbie works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Charcoal content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Charcoal slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Charcoal works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Charcoal tries to score with some ground and pound. Begbie controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Begbie parries the strikes from Charcoal easily there. Charcoal is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Begbie to escape.

Well Charcoal has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
