Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tito Santiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chester Gates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gates comes into a darkened arena with his song building. 9 Piece kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Chester Gates will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tito Santiago! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chester Gates! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, David Schapiro and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gates will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. No luck for Gates with that takedown attempt. Santiago bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Santiago controlling from side mount. Santiago throws a strike aimed at the side of Gates's head but Gates avoids it well. Santiago trying to control the position but Gates is working away. Santiago in side control, throwing shots but Gates defends. Santiago postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Santiago creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Gates sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Santiago with the ground and pound but Gates regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Santiago missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Santiago winds up and cracks Gates with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Gates trying to hold on to Santiago's head to control him but Santiago postures up.
Gates keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Santiago content to control rather than advance. Gates is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Santiago's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Santiago's back! Gates missing with strikes. Santiago breaks Gates's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Santiago trying to control the position from guard on top but Gates is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Santiago throws a big right hand that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gates is controlling Santiago's posture. Santiago throwing strikes but missing. Santiago wants to control from the top but Gates keeps moving. Santiago looking to sit in guard and control but Gates gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Santiago wants to get back to his feet but Gates is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Gates is looking to work some ground and pound but Santiago has wrist control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gates is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Santiago is looking for a triangle here but Gates uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Gates throws an elbow but Santiago slips to the side and avoids it well. Santiago wants to control but Gates postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Santiago tries to escape but Gates is in control. Santiago is trying to improve his position. Gates working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Gates trying to control the action but Santiago is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tito Santiago dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Gates gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Santiago cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Gates leaves Santiago with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Santiago moves out of range of the body kick. Santiago closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gates did well to prevent Santiago getting side control. Gates is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Santiago scores with a couple of nice shots. Santiago thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Santiago winds up and cracks Gates with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Santiago trying to mount his opponent but Gates defends it. Santiago thows a huge punch but Gates dodges it nicely.
Santiago is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Tito Santiago overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Santiago wants to take a breather but Gates is having none of it. Santiago thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's one minute gone in the round. Santiago lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Santiago is taking a breather. Gates says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Gates trying to control but Santiago postures up.
Santiago is looking to stall here but Gates recovers full guard. Santiago looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Santiago stopping the sweep attempt from Gates.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gates wants to stand up but Santiago is controlling him. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Santiago's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Santiago postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Santiago trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Santiago preventing the sweep. This has been an exciting period of action! Santiago throws a big elbow that misses. Santiago is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Santiago with a flurry of punches that miss. Santiago landing some decent shots from guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Santiago missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Santiago trying to control but Gates is working from the bottom. Santiago looking to pass the guard. Gates keeping moving, preventing Santiago from controlling successfully. Santiago throws a big right hand that misses. Santiago throws a strike but Gates rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Gates won't allow Santiago to sweep him here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Santiago has his hands on Gates's head, controlling the position. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Tito Santiago wasn't doing enough on the ground. Santiago scores a takedown into full mount! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A nice elbow there by Santiago. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gates shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Santiago defends it nicely.
Gates is rocked! Santiago closes the distance looking for a takedown. Santiago picks Gates up and slams him brutally to the floor. Gates is out! He's out cold! Wow, you don't see a finish like that every day!
