6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, DJ Wegesin! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Wegesin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Banks fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Banks shoots in but Wegesin avoids the takedown attempt easily. Banks avoids the body shot from Wegesin.

That's one minute gone in the round. Banks closes the distance and clinches up with Wegesin, looking for a takedown. Banks pushes Wegesin against the cage but Wegesin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Banks gets the takedown into side control. Banks advances to full mount. Wegesin tries to lock up and control but Banks gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Banks working for a guillotine from mount but Wegesin is in no mood to give up. Banks jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Wegesin manages to avoid the submission attempt. Wegesin tries to get back to half guard but can't. Wegesin is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Banks working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Wegesin tries to improve position but can't. Wegesin is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Banks is controlling him well. Banks working away. Wegesin is looking to regain half guard here but Banks keeps moving and retains side control.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Wegesin scores a takedown into full mount! Wegesin looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Wegesin wants to take Banks's back but he can't do it this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wegesin looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Wegesin is standing up, even though he is in mount. A left lands for Wegesin. Wegesin shoots and misses and Banks counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Wegesin! Banks looking to secure an arm triangle but Wegesin defends it well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Banks has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Wegesin is forced to tap!
