Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knight connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Knight throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Payton fails with an attempt to clinch.
Knight throws a combination that misses
and Payton counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Knight feints a jab promting Payton to slip. Knight then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Payton slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
It looks like Gary Payton has been cut.

and Payton counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Knight thinking.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Knight loads up on a big right hand but Payton slips the punch.
Payton throws a nice looking combination but Knight bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Payton tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Knight manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Payton tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Knight throws a right and a left that both miss.
Knight moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Knight rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Payton moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Knight is breathing heavily.
Payton wants to clinch.
Payton throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Knight was covering up waiting for the punch and Payton finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Payton wants to pass the guard but Knight is keeping the position.
Payton is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Payton trying to control but Knight is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Gary Payton was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Knight will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sloppy strikes from Payton. Those never looked like landing.

Knight throws a series of punches but Payton avoids them all with ease.

and Payton counters with a nice uppercut.
Michael Knight is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Payton scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Payton is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Knight knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Payton looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Knight is avoiding damage well.

Knight tries to bum rush Payton with a series of wild strikes but Payton uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Payton looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Knight is fending him off so far but Payton persists. Nope, Knight circles away and we're back to standing.
Payton drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Payton has hold of Knight's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Knight tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Payton cranks the arm and Knight screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Knight, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
