Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Herbert Dean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddy Eriksson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Freddy Eriksson! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Eriksson. No joy for Dean on that attempt. Eriksson looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Eriksson stuffs the takedown attempt from Dean. Dean gets slowly back to his feet. Dean tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Eriksson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Dean shoots in and drives through. Eriksson sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Herbert Dean. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dean shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Eriksson but Eriksson pushes him off and we're back to square one. Eriksson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dean shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Eriksson as he avoids it easily. Dean looks for a takedown here. Dean tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Eriksson swivels and escapes. Dean scores a takedown into full mount! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dean prevents Eriksson from getting the reversal. You get the feeling that Eriksson really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Dean takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Eriksson is controlling an arm, preventing Dean from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Eriksson's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Dean looking for a guillotine from mount but Eriksson is having none of it. Eriksson avoids a series of strikes thrown by Dean.
Dean controlling from the full mount. Dean is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Eriksson is surviving well by controlling Dean's body position as best he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Eriksson is squirming around, avoiding Dean's attempts to control the action. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Eriksson can do anything to dispel that myth. Eriksson holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Dean tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Dean has control of Eriksson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Eriksson regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Eriksson defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Dean.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Eriksson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Eriksson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Dean is working to isolate an arm here. It's a choreographed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Dean extends the arm and Eriksson is forced to tap!
