Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pierre Boisson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ashon Yates! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boisson shoots in and drives through. Yates sprawls well. Boisson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Boisson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Yates blocks a head kick by Boisson.
Boisson just misses with a punch to the body.
Boisson throws a lazy head kick and Yates counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Yates. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Yates stops Boisson from standing up. Boisson wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Yates is now in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boisson is trying to control but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yates is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Boisson has managed to free his arm - good work. Boisson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Boisson wants to improve his position but Yates is controlling well.
Boisson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Yates is working away from the top position though.

Boisson tries to get to full guard but Yates has control of the leg. Yates is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Boisson is looking to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boisson is concentrating on defense, preventing Yates from advancing position. Boisson tries to get to full guard but Yates has control of the leg. Boisson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Yates on the ground. Yates is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Pierre Boisson. Boisson wants to clinch and Yates counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Boisson! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Yates goes for an armbar but Boisson turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Boisson. Boisson throws a big right hand that misses. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Yates escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Boisson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Yates pushes a forearm under Boisson's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Boisson is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
