Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Blaze Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter McBain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McBain is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Alien8. Peter McBain told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Blaze Jenkins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Peter McBain! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jenkins changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McBain tries to avoid it but Jenkins manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McBain to the ground. McBain escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jenkins tries to grapple but his opponent circles and McBain counters with a head kick. That will keep Jenkins thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! McBain scores with a nice right hand.
McBain looks to land a combination but Jenkins avoids it well. McBain looks to score with a jab to the body but Jenkins is just out of range. McBain will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
McBain moves into the clinch successfully.
McBain is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Jenkins jumps guard but McBain stands there with Jenkins around his waist. Jenkins gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Jenkins scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jenkins wants to control but McBain is keeping him busy. Jenkins stands up and beckons McBain to his feet. McBain throws a sloppy head kick and Jenkins moves out of range easily. Jenkins swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and McBain counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jenkins shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McBain but McBain pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Blaze Jenkins. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jenkins moves into range and clinches up with McBain. McBain wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jenkins has him pressed against the cage. McBain on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
McBain is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Jenkins is defending well for now. McBain pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! McBain throws a sloppy head kick and Jenkins moves out of range easily. Jenkins changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jenkins is trying to break the clinch but McBain is controlling him. Jenkins keeps control of McBain as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. McBain is trying to break free. McBain misses with an elbow strike.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Jenkins has clasped his hands together around McBain's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. McBain can't do much from the bottom here. McBain is looking for a sweep. McBain is trying to get back to his feet. Jenkins stands up and we're back to a striking position. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jenkins shoots in for a takedown but McBain shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Jenkins doesn't manage to clinch there - McBain circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Blaze Jenkins will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Jenkins swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Jenkins takes a head kick and keeps coming.

"I don't think so" says McBain as he avoids it easily.

Peter McBain showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
