Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Ovaltrades! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Kevin Van Dam! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Donald Grub and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ovaltrades fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Van Dam keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. A looping hook to the body misses from Van Dam. Ovaltrades does a little dance to reset his feet. Ovaltrades shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Van Dam squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Ovaltrades goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Van Dam turns into him and now he's in Ovaltrades's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ovaltrades throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Ovaltrades has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Van Dam would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Ovaltrades has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Van Dam can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Van Dam wants to stand but Ovaltrades is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ovaltrades working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Van Dam has passed into half guard!
Van Dam wants to get back to his feet.
Ovaltrades is looking to improve his position.
Ovaltrades looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The fighters are battling for position here. Ovaltrades manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Van Dam wants to get up but he can't break Ovaltrades's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Ovaltrades looking to hit a scissor sweep but Van Dam is one step ahead there. Van Dam wants to stand but Ovaltrades has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Ovaltrades is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Van Dam defends well. Van Dam stopping the sweep attempt from Ovaltrades.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Dam postures up.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Van Dam is looking to stand up but Ovaltrades won't let him. Ovaltrades has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Van Dam should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Ovaltrades has tightened it up now! Van Dam should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
