Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elias Babcock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Kofhal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Elias Babcock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eric Kofhal!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Matheus Silva and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Babcock clinches.

Babcock wants the takedown. Kofhal is fighting it off but Babcock persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Kofhal's guard against the cage.
Babcock stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kofhal swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kofhal trying to keep a closed guard but Babcock is proving a slippery customer.
Babcock really is a fat lump.

Babcock decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kofhal, up you get!
Kofhal lands with a nice combination. Babcock backs away looking to recover.


It looks like Elias Babcock has been cut.
Kofhal is looking to clinch.
Babcock blocks a head kick by Kofhal.
Nice takedown defense from Babcock. No joy for Kofhal on that attempt.

Babcock drives through and clinches with Kofhal against the cage.
Kofhal wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Babcock has clasped his hands together around Kofhal's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Babcock trying to control the action but Kofhal is working from the bottom.
Kofhal is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Babcock asserts his dominance and retains side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kofhal wants to control but Babcock postures up.
Kofhal gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Babcock lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Kofhal has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Babcock is working away from the top position though.
Babcock is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kofhal is looking for a sweep. Babcock is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Babcock not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Babcock stands up from half guard.

Babcock moves into the clinch.
Babcock wants a takedown but no success here.
Babcock is breathing heavily.
Babcock trying to land knees to the body.
Kofhal wants a takedown but no success here.
Babcock prevents Kofhal from breaking the clinch.
Babcock misses with a short punch on the inside.
Babcock lands with a short shot to the head.

Kofhal gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Kofhal tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Babcock.
Babcock is positioning himself well to prevent Kofhal advancing to mount.
Babcock gets full guard.
Kofhal stands and throws Babcock's legs to the side, diving into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kofhal is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Kofhal trying to control the action but Babcock is working from the bottom.
Kofhal scoring with punches from side control.

Kofhal looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Kofhal landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Kofhal wants to lay and pray for a moment but Babcock keeps working.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kofhal might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Babcock kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Babcock tries to buck Kofhal off but Kofhal is having none of it.
Kofhal wants to control but Babcock is keeping him busy.
Babcock sneaks back into half guard.
Babcock is not content to let Kofhal control the position.
Babcock trying to control here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Babcock gets the takedown into side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Babcock in side control lands a decent elbow.

Babcock decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kofhal to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Elias Babcock dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Elias Babcock's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!


Babcock throws a sloppy head kick and Kofhal moves out of range easily.
Babcock on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Kofhal. Kofhal obviously looking to wear him down.
Eric Kofhal is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Babcock scoring well with a low kick there.
Babcock circles away from the clinch attempt

and Babcock counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Kofhal wants to improve his position but Babcock is controlling well.
Babcock working the head and body with strikes.
Babcock perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Babcock stops Kofhal from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Babcock moves into full mount! Kofhal won't be happy about that!
Babcock looking to control and managing it successfully.
Kofhal is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Babcock working the ground and pound effectively.

Babcock working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Kofhal turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Babcock off and cradles Kofhal's limp body as Babcock celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Elias Babcock!
