The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Botwin fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Okiro has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Okiro takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Botwin finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

and Botwin counters with a nice low kick that buckles Okiro's knee momentarily.

Botwin turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Botwin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Okiro tries to clinch there but Botwin circles away.
Okiro on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Botwin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Botwin wants to control from the top but Okiro keeps moving.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
