Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Julius Rodrigo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jon Jonas!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Seu Braga and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jonas tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Rodrigo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jonas throws a nice outside leg kick.
Jonas is trying hard to land a takedown here. Rodrigo sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Rodrigo throws a low kick but Jonas moves out of range easily.
Rodrigo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jonas paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Rodrigo closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Rodrigo's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Jonas connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Rodrigo scrambles back to his feet.
Rodrigo takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Rodrigo drives through with a takedown into Jonas's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jonas wants to stand and escape but Rodrigo is having none of it.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jonas holds on and takes a little breather.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Julius Rodrigo wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Rodrigo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jonas paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Nice takedown defense from Jonas. No joy for Rodrigo on that attempt.

Jonas tries to bum rush Rodrigo with a series of wild strikes but Rodrigo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Rodrigo has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Good work by Jonas as he checks the leg kick.

Jonas misses with a series of wild punches.
Jonas shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rodrigo sprawls well. Rodrigo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jonas gets slowly back to his feet.

Jonas avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Jonas digs a good body shot into Rodrigo's ribs.
Rodrigo avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jonas looks to land a combination but Rodrigo avoids it well.
Rodrigo takes one on the button.
Rodrigo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jonas is fending him off so far but Rodrigo persists. Nope, Jonas circles away and we're back to standing.

Rodrigo takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Jonas bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Rodrigo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jonas wants to get back to his feet.
Rodrigo content to control rather than advance.
Rodrigo has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Jonas wants to control but Rodrigo is keeping busy and won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jon Jonas dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Rodrigo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jonas but Jonas pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Jonas throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rodrigo.

Rodrigo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jonas is fending him off so far but Rodrigo persists. Nope, Jonas circles away and we're back to standing.

Rodrigo pivots, looking for a leg kick but Jonas is out of range and Rodrigo settles back down.

and Jonas counters with a two punch combo.
Jonas goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Jonas catches Rodrigo with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Rodrigo is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Jonas lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Rodrigo goes down and covers up as Jonas starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
