Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sam Madison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Furuichi Takayuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Furuichi Takayuki is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sam Madison!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Furuichi Takayuki!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Mauricio Rocha and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Takayuki.
Madison misses with a few strikes there.
Madison swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Takayuki.

Takayuki feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Madison looking for a sweep. Not yet Madison, not yet.

Takayuki moves nicely into side control.
Madison is looking to regain half guard here but Takayuki keeps moving and retains side control.

Takayuki working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Madison is trying to get back to half guard.
Madison manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Madison wants to pass the guard but Takayuki is defending well.

The fighters are battling for position here. Takayuki manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Madison wants to stand but Takayuki has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Takayuki working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Madison doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Madison manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Takayuki moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Madison avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Madison stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Takayuki swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Takayuki bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Madison's guard.

Madison escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Takayuki gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Takayuki thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Takayuki trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Takayuki drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Takayuki jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Takayuki stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Madison swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Madison knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Takayuki on the ground.

Madison has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Takayuki can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Takayuki drops back looking for a leg! Madison is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Madison manages to kick Takayuki off! Takayuki jumps back into Madison's guard.

Takayuki tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Takayuki has hold of Madison's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Madison seems comfortable defending it but Takayuki has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Madison is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Madison is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Takayuki couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Furuichi Takayuki! Furuichi Takayuki retains his bantamweight title!
