Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cody Curmi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Brando! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Winston Howard and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Curmi throws a head kick that misses. A punch combination from Brando misses. Curmi moves in looking to clinch but Brando pushes him off. Brando misses with a left hand and Curmi holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Curmi misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Brando.
Brando on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Curmi is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Curmi. Brando manages to pull guard.
Curmi wants to control from the top but Brando keeps moving. Curmi is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Curmi got a little sloppy there for a moment and Brando has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Curmi has managed to get both his arms back between Brando's legs - danger averted. Curmi trying to control but Brando is working from the bottom. Curmi postures up.
Brando tries to land a sweep but no joy. Brando is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Cody Curmi. Curmi tries to close the distance and clinch but Brando swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brando fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Curmi manages to avoid it. Brando shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Brando showed some decent athleticism there. Curmi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Brando on the ground. Brando is looking to advance position but Curmi won't allow it. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Brando wants to lay and pray for a moment but Curmi keeps working. Brando looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Brando seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Brando seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Curmi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
James Brando has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Brando with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Brando shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Curmi's guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Brando looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Brando trying to control but Curmi is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Curmi is looking to control Brando's arms but Brando gets an underhook and turns him. Now Curmi has his back to the ropes. Brando is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Curmi is stalling here.

Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Curmi creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Brando's defenses. Curmi looking to stall.
