Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jarod Bryce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and PeeJii Penni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). PeeJii Penni will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jarod Bryce! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, PeeJii Penni! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bryce with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Penni to score with a decent uppercut. Penni swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Penni uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bryce.
PeeJii Penni seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bryce drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bryce tries for a kimura but Penni is defending well. Bryce is trying to get an arm triangle but Penni is defending well. Bryce just content to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bryce looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Penni gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bryce looking to control and managing it successfully. Bryce throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Penni because Bryce loaded up on that one. Bryce could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Bryce controlling from the full mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bryce jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Penni manages to avoid the submission attempt. Bryce sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Penni is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Bryce stands up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Penni scores with a body shot.
Penni lands a nice shot to the body.
Bryce needs to keep his hands up - Penni had a free shot at his head there. A cross from Penni lands. Penni lands with a straight right. Bryce didn't see that one coming. Bryce shoots in and bounces Penni off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bryce seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jarod Bryce dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Penni rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Bryce counters with a single leg into guard. Penni didn't expect that. Bryce prevents Penni from getting back to his feet. Bryce seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Jarod Bryce overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Bryce trying to control but Penni is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Jarod Bryce just wasn't active enough. Penni is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bryce. Bryce closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Penni is trying to break free. Penni tries to circle away but Bryce has him pinned against the cage. Bryce escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice defenses there by Bryce. Penni avoids the head kick by Bryce.
Bryce staying out of range there. Penni fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Nice shot by Penni. Penni moves out of range of the body kick. Penni swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Penni lands a nice shot to the body.
Penni throws a shot to the body.
Penni wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Bryce drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bryce wants to pass the guard but Penni is keeping the position. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bryce trying to control the position from guard on top but Penni is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Penni really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bryce. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Jarod Bryce just wasn't active enough. Bryce clinches up against the cage. Bryce keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Penni's efforts to push away. The referee calls for Bryce to work.
Penni tries to break free but Bryce pushes him back against the cage. Penni doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Bryce manages to break the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bryce takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Penni throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Penni lands a head shot. Bryce walks into a jab. Penni jabs at Bryce's body. Bryce walks into a stiff left hand from Penni. Bryce shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Penni but Penni pushes him off and we're back to square one. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Penni getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Penni missing with a left hand there. Bryce was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Penni swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Bryce will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. PeeJii Penni is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Penni goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Penni lands a nice hook to Bryce's body. Bryce takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Penni cracks a nice hook into Bryce's ribs. Jab by Penni. Penni moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Penni fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Penni throws a looping overhand right but Bryce ducks down to avoid it. Good standup being displayed there by Penni as he connects with a hook. Penni closes the distance and lands a one-two. Bryce takes one on the button. Penni getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Bryce is rocked! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! and Penni counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Bryce! He's just covering up as Penni starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). PeeJii Penni!
