Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Stubb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Pitney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stubb kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Paper Scratcher. On his way into the cage it seems that Michael Stubb has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Michael Stubb seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Stubb! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eddie Pitney! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stubb shoots and misses and Pitney counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Stubb managing to block the knees to the body from Pitney.
Stubb jumps into guard, dragging Pitney to the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pitney lands a couple of elbows. Stubb working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pitney doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pitney manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Stubb had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pitney defends it easily. Pitney has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Stubb is proving hard to escape from. Stubb keeping moving, preventing Pitney from controlling successfully. Pitney avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Eddie Pitney was stalling too much, according to the referee. Stubb keeps the fight on the outside. Pitney circles away from the clinch attempt and Pitney counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Stubb! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Pitney get's back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pitney fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Stubb, pushing him back against the cage. Stubb is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Pitney gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Pitney with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Pitney pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Stubb throws a lazy head kick and Pitney counters with a leg kick. Pitney keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Stubb. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pitney tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Stubb manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Michael Stubb seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pitney lands a head kick. Stubb smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Stubb looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Stubb is defended easily by Pitney. Stubb gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Pitney counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Stubb is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pitney drives through and clinches with Stubb against the cage.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. A momentary lapse in concentration from Stubb enables Pitney to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Stubb manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Pitney throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pitney loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Pitney tries to free his leg and advance position but Stubb is retaining full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stubb looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Pitney must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Pitney drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Pitney as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Stubb screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Pitney! Nice submission victory there!
