The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez misses with an uppercut.

Gomez lands a left and a right that send Pavlov crashing to the mat, dazed. Gomez thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Pavel Pavlov has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gomez with a hook.
Pavlov avoids the head kick by Gomez.
Gomez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
No joy there for Gomez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gomez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pavlov.
Pavlov keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Gomez.

Pavlov gets the takedown into side control.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Pavlov is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gomez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Pavlov is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Gomez looks calm but he's in trouble here. Pavlov gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Gomez is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Pavlov lets go of the hold and Gomez can pop his arm back in it's socket.
