Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Janusz Kabanos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Randy Royale!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paulsen Ambrosius and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Royale moves into the clinch successfully.
Kabanos fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Kabanos jumps guard but Royale stands there with Kabanos around his waist. Kabanos gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Royale lands a nice elbow from the clinch.


It looks like Janusz Kabanos has been cut.

Royale gets control of Kabanos's arms and successfully pulls guard. Royale will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Kabanos in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Kabanos engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Janusz Kabanos just wasn't active enough.
Kabanos avoids the head kick by Royale.

and Royale counters with a nice leg kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Janusz Kabanos. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Royale swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sloppy strikes from Royale. Those never looked like landing.
Royale throws a series of punches but Kabanos moves out of range.
Royale misses with a wild combination.

Kabanos shoots in looking for a takedown but Royale manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kabanos's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
A swing and a miss from Royale.

Royale has Kabanos up against the cage in a clinch.

Royale wants the takedown. Kabanos is fighting it off but Royale persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Kabanos's guard against the cage.
Royale trying to control the position from guard on top but Kabanos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kabanos pulls Royale in close to his closed guard and prevents Royale from doing any damage or advancing position.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Royale throws a right hand that Kabanos ducks under and follows up with a left that Kabanos also avoids with ease.
Royale throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
No joy there for Royale, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Royale stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Royale wants it to stay on the feet.
Royale throws a wild body kick that Kabanos sees coming a mile off.
Kabanos really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Royale has Kabanos up against the cage in a clinch.
Royale is trying to force a seperation but Kabanos has the dominant position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kabanos jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Royale walks away with a smile on his face. Kabanos gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Kabanos gets a takedown into half guard.
Kabanos works his way into full mount!
Royale blocking the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Randy Royale dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Janusz Kabanos's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Kabanos gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
letting Royale counter with a right hand.
Kabanos shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Royale but Royale pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Kabanos shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Royale is in a horrible position here. Kabanos smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Royale is trying to stand.

Kabanos is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Royale to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Royale shrugs it off.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kabanos has hold of Royale's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Royale manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Kabanos has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Royale's face.


It looks like Randy Royale has been cut.
Kabanos sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Kabanos is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Royale is forced to tap! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Janusz Kabanos!
Janusz Kabanos decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
