The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Wagner Zegers and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bertanco shoots for a takedown but Hoost saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Bertanco forces Hoost back against the cage and clinches.
Hoost jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bertanco walks away with a smile on his face. Hoost gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Bertanco blocks a head kick by Hoost.
Bertanco really is a fat lump.
Hoost tries for a takedown but Bertanco sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hoost pushes Bertanco up against the cage in a clinch.
Hoost scores with a shot to the side of Bertanco's head.
It looks like Joe Bertanco has been cut.
Bertanco pulls guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Hoost trying to control but Bertanco is working from the bottom.
Bertanco might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hoost in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Bertanco wants to control but Hoost passes easily into half guard.

Hoost perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Bertanco is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hoost pulls his head out easily.
Hoost wants to free his trapped foot but Bertanco is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Hoost is keen to just control but Bertanco is a slippery customer.
Bertanco wants to control but Hoost is keeping busy.
Bertanco is looking for a sweep. Hoost is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bertanco is trying to control but Hoost manages to pass to mount!

BOOM! Hoost connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Hoost trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Bertanco wants to hold on but Hoost pushes him away.
Hoost takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Bertanco is looking to improve his position but Hoost isn't that keen on the idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hoost throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hoost wants to control but Bertanco has made it back to half guard. Nice work.

Hoost trying to mount his opponent but Bertanco defends it.
Bertanco keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Bertanco wants to improve his position but Hoost is controlling well.

Bertanco has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hoost is working away from the top position though.
Hoost really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bertanco. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Well, if Hoost is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Bertanco fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Hoost checks it well.

Bertanco wants to break the clinch but can't.
Bertanco prevents a takedown attempt there.
Hoost pulls guard successfully.
Hoost is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Bertanco wants to control from the top but Hoost keeps moving.
Hoost wants to sweep but no luck.
Hoost is looking for a triangle here but Bertanco uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Hoost wants to control the position but that's not easy when your opponent is in side control! Bertanco seems to be going for some sort of submission here. Hard to say what - oh, it's a Brabo choke! He's got it! Hoost is tapping! Wow, great finish!
