Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Rain!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Lisbon!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Lisbon with that takedown attempt.
Rain tries for a takedown but Lisbon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and Rain decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lisbon's guard.
Lisbon is trying to keep Rain in close.
Rain throwing strikes but missing.
Rain wanted to stand there but Lisbon had control of the position.
Lisbon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Rain controlling the position well.
Lisbon performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lisbon looks gassed!

Rain is controlling Lisbon's trapped leg to prevent Lisbon from advancing to side control.
Lisbon not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Rain wants to get back to his feet.
Lisbon passes to side control.
Rain is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Rain is working hard here to advance position.
Lisbon tries to score with some ground and pound. Rain controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Rain wants to control but Lisbon postures up.
Lisbon is looking to take a break and control but Rain is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Lisbon fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rain, pushing him back against the cage.
Lisbon looking for a takedown.
Ryan Rain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Lisbon.
Rain tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lisbon smiles and moves away.

Rain closes the distance and clinches.

Rain breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rain pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rain misses with a hook.
A head kick misses from Rain.

Lisbon closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Rain tries to break the clinch but Lisbon is controlling the position.
Lisbon scores with a hook to the body.

Rain lands a takedown into guard.
Rain stops Lisbon from standing up.
Lisbon wants to sweep here but Rain controlling him for the moment.
Lisbon is striking but Rain is not phased and passes to half guard.
Rain is controlling the pace.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lisbon trying to control but Rain postures up.
Rain thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Rain is tying to control. Lisbon wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Lisbon circles away from the clinch attempt
enabling Lisbon to counter with a crisp jab.
No luck for Lisbon with that takedown attempt.
Rain throws a head kick that misses
and Lisbon counters with a left and a right that stings Rain.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Rain dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Rain fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lisbon sprawls well initially but Rain persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Rain perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Rain is tying to control. Lisbon wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Rain moves into full mount! Lisbon won't be happy about that!
Lisbon wants to hold on but Rain pushes him away.
Lisbon has given up his back here.
Rain is not going to allow Lisbon to sit and survive in this position.
Rain is looking to control Lisbon but Lisbon is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lisbon has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

Lisbon just trying to survive but Rain is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Rain's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Lisbon is trying to stand back up.
Lisbon is keeping busy.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Rain not allowing Lisbon to control his hands.
Lisbon manages to reverse the position and now he's in Rain's guard. Nice work there by Lisbon.
Rain is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lisbon shoots and misses

and Rain counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Rain tries to free his leg and advance position but Lisbon is retaining full guard.
Lisbon thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Lisbon is trying to keep Rain in close.
Rain trying to control but Lisbon is working from the bottom.

Lisbon wants to sweep but no luck.
Rain wants to control from the top but Lisbon keeps moving.
Lisbon wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rain stands up from Lisbon's guard - Rain perhaps looking for a knockout.
Rain tries to clinch
and Lisbon counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Rain misses with an attempted mid kick.
Rain misses with a two punch combination.
Ryan Rain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rain throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Rain misses with a knee to the head.

Rain tries to pull guard but Lisbon holds him up against the cage and eventually Rain drops back down to his feet.
Rain misses with a body punch.
Lisbon prevents a takedown attempt there.
Rain prevents the takedown attempt.
Rain is trying to stall.
Rain has Lisbon pressed against the cage.

Rain breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rain misses with a few strikes there.

Lisbon shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Rain has given up his back here. Will Lisbon look for the submission or keep pounding away?
Rain trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Rain is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Lisbon is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Rain's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Lisbon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Rain in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Rain showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Rain advances position into side control!
Lisbon is trying to control Rain's posture but Rain avoids it.
Lisbon takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Lisbon is looking to get back to his feet here but Rain is keeping cool and he's managed to take Lisbon's back.
Rain is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.

Rain gets his hands free as Lisbon looks to control.
Lisbon is keeping busy.
Lisbon looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
Lisbon trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Rain throwing strikes and Lisbon squirms under the pressure, ending up mounted.
Rain raining down shots from the mount!
A nice elbow there by Rain.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rain landing strikes from the mount.
Lisbon regains half guard.
Lisbon is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Rain scores with a couple of nice shots.

Rain escapes and gets back to his feet.

Lisbon gets the takedown into side control.
Lisbon trying to control the action but Rain is working from the bottom.

Lisbon decides to stand back up.
Lisbon avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lisbon fails to land the takedown.
Rain tries to clinch up.
Lisbon shoots in looking for a takedown. Rain tries to sprawl out of it but Lisbon keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rain manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Rain counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Rain.
Ryan Rain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Lisbon.

Rain is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

so Lisbon counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Rain working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lisbon doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lisbon manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Rain is working an open guard so Lisbon takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rain, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
