Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Waleed Malik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Ford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malik's entrance music is Can't Be Touched. A fine choice. Ford has chosen For What It's Worth as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ford is trying desperately to land a takedown but Malik is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Ford.

Ford tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Malik manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ford rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Malik moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Ford catches Malik with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

The fight stays on the outside here - Ford looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ford shoots in and gets a takedown into Malik's guard.

Ford postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Malik is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ford, into his guard.
Ford has a closed guard, preventing Malik from standing up.
Ford has his foot on Malik's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Malik works his way back into a safe position though.

Ford escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Malik gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Malik knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ford on the ground.

Ford working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Malik doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Malik manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Ford trying to keep a closed guard but Malik is proving a slippery customer.
Malik would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Malik stands and steps away. Ford gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ford looks to land a combination but Malik avoids it well.
Ford fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Malik manages to avoid it.

It looks like Eric Ford has been cut.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Ford throws a nice looking combination but Malik bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Ford dives in and grabs Malik's left leg, looking for a takedown. Malik pushes down on Ford's head and hops out.

Oooooh!!! Malik has knocked Ford down with a huge combo! Malik steps away and waves a wobbly Ford back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
