Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Calviin Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yasuhiru Kanayama!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Taro Takaoka and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch lands to the side of Kanayama 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Kanayama shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Johnson as he avoids it easily.
Johnson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Johnson wants it to stay on the feet.
Kanayama shoots in looking for a takedown but Johnson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kanayama's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Calviin Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yasuhiru Kanayama.
A punch lands to the side of Kanayama 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Johnson scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Johnson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kanayama's waist but Kanayama gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Johnson off to one side.
Horrible takedown by Kanayama or perhaps it was just good defense by Johnson which made him look bad.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kanayama's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Johnson connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kanayama scrambles back to his feet.
Kanayama is rocked!
Kanayama looks gassed!
Johnson with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Kanayama is still on wobbly legs! Can Johnson finish him?
Johnson drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Kanayama's head, knocking him out cold! Johnson is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Calviin Johnson!
Calviin Johnson gave a mention to Reaper Combatwear in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
