Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sam Whitaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dom Fartch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sam Whitaker has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sam Whitaker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dom Fartch! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fartch looking to score a takedown here. Whitaker is defending well but Fartch drives through and ends up in Whitaker's guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Fartch throws a big elbow that misses. Fartch slips nicely into half guard. Whitaker is looking for a sweep. Fartch is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Fartch seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Whitaker trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Fartch manages to pass to mount!
Fartch looking to control but Whitaker is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Whitaker is in a horrible position here. Fartch smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Fartch is landing with some decent strikes but Whitaker is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Fartch is working for a guillotine from mount but Whitaker frees his head quite easily.
Fartch tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Fartch is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Whitaker to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Whitaker shrugs it off. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. A nice elbow there by Fartch. Whitaker is looking to get to half guard. Fartch landing strikes from the mount and Whitaker is in trouble!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Fartch sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Fartch is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Whitaker defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Fartch's arms. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Whitaker is keeping busy.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Fartch pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Fartch jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Whitaker manages to avoid the submission attempt. Whitaker tries to bench press Fartch off him but Fartch keeps the position. Fartch is working Whitaker over with some ground and pound from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Fartch passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Whitaker! Fartch is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Whitaker is looking for a triangle but Fartch pushes his legs off easily.

Dom Fartch is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Fartch postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Fartch slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Dom Fartch. Whitaker misses with a takedown and Fartch counters with a takedown into side control.
And that's the end of the fight! Dom Fartch comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Fartch has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
