Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Duke Gibbons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rod Quantock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quantock is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Meant to be funny, not an ad.. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donk. Gibbons catches Quantock right on the button with a cross.
Quantock shoots in for a double leg but Gibbons sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Gibbons thows a body shot but no joy.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Quantock stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gibbons swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Quantock shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gibbons but Gibbons pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Quantock wants to take the fight to the mat but Gibbons manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Quantock tries to score a body lock takedown but Gibbons shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Quantock sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gibbons's guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Duke Gibbons.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gibbons, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
