Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Peter Leven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leven comes to the cage accompanied by Tutti Frutti Summer Love - Gunther. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter Leven!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Matt Jones!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Paul Tew and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Leven gets a takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Leven is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Jones is looking for a sweep. Leven is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Leven. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Leven slows the pace down in half guard.
Jones has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Leven is working away from the top position though.

We're going to have a standup here because Peter Leven wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Leven throws a leg kick but Jones sees it coming and checks it nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Jones shoots in and gets a takedown into Leven's guard.

Leven uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Nice takedown defense from Leven. No joy for Jones on that attempt.
Leven gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Leven will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jones fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Leven throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Leven is looking to score with low kicks.
Leven thows a body shot but no joy.

Leven drives through with a takedown into guard.
Leven slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Leven working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Leven trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom.
Leven lands a couple of digs.
Jones looking for a sweep. Not yet Jones, not yet.
Leven throws a big elbow that misses.
Jones wants to sweep here but Leven controlling him for the moment.
Leven controls from within his opponent's guard.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Jones rushes Leven and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Leven misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Jones wants the takedown. Leven is fighting it off but Jones persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Leven's guard against the cage.
Jones postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Jones trying to control but Leven is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Jones being controlled here momentarily.

Leven looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jones is one step ahead there.
Leven manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Leven with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Leven controlling the pace for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Peter Leven will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Jones looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Matt Jones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A looping hook to the body misses from Leven. Jones does a little dance to reset his feet.
Jab by Leven.

Leven shoots in and bounces Jones off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Leven postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Leven trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom.
Leven is looking to work some ground and pound but Jones has wrist control.

Leven has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Leven wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working.
Jones is looking to reverse the position.
Jones is not content to let Leven control the position.
Leven working away.
Jones is trying to escape the position but Leven is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Peter Leven overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Jones tries to bench press Leven off him but Leven keeps the position.
Jones on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Leven scores with a couple of short elbows.
Leven creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Leven creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Jones sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Leven scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Jones to see if he's OK.

The referee asks Leven politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Leven prefers to stall for the moment though.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth.

Leven is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Leven is putting a hurting on Jones here, landing some big shots from side control.
Leven creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Leven wants to control but Jones is keeping him busy.
Jones tries to buck Leven off but Leven is having none of it.

Leven cracks Jones with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Jones takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Leven looks up at the clock and then as Jones takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Leven smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Leven takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Jones has managed to clinch.
Jones is trying to drag Leven to the mat but Leven just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Jones prevents the takedown attempt.
Jones keeps control of Leven as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Leven is looking to control Jones's arms but Jones gets an underhook and turns him. Now Leven has his back to the cage.
Jones tries for a takedown but Leven manages to get underhooks.
Leven is trying to break the clinch but Jones has him pressed against the cage.
Jones tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Leven smiles and moves away.
Peter Leven has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Jones.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jones looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Leven looks to throw the jab but Jones is out of range.

Jones avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Leven misses with an uppercut. Jones saw that one coming.
Leven works over Jones's head and body with a nice combination.

Jones drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Leven escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jones gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Leven manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Leven fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Jones is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Leven cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Jones tries to reverse the position but Leven maintains control.
Leven looking to control but Jones is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
BOOM! Leven connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Jones tries to hold on but Leven postures up.
Leven is in the full mount, landing strikes.
A nice elbow there by Leven.
Leven working the ground and pound effectively.

Leven sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Jones takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Leven trying to control but Jones is having none of it.
The referee warns Jones that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Leven landing strikes, looking to finish!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Leven wants to control the pace but Jones is squirming around nicely.
Matt Jones has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Peter Leven is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

And that's the end of the fight!
Peter Leven showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Leven, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
