The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Steve Erwin and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ali tries to bum rush Jiorgite with a series of wild strikes but Jiorgite uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jiorgite showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Ali.
Jiorgite ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Jiorgite tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Ali misses with a wild combination.
Jiorgite tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Ali manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Jiorgite wants to clinch up but Ali keeps it at a distance.
Ali misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Jiorgite makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Ali tries to bum rush Jiorgite with a series of wild strikes but Jiorgite uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ali moves out of range of the body kick from Jiorgite.
Jiorgite is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ali sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Ali shoots in but no luck this time.
Ali throws a right and a left that Jiorgite avoids nicely.
Ali shoots for a takedown but Jiorgite saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ali bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Jiorgite can't do much from the bottom here.
Jiorgite is looking to reverse the position.
Ali with the ground and pound but Jiorgite regains half guard under the barage of strikes.

Jiorgite has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ali is working away from the top position though.
Ali looks to land a strike but Jiorgite avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Ali won't allow Jiorgite to sweep him here.
Ali throws an elbow that misses. Jiorgite uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ali's guard. Nice move by Jiorgite!
Jiorgite is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ali controls Jiorgite momentarily but Jiorgite frees himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ali looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Ali seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Jiorgite sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ali's guard.
Jiorgite seems to be looking for submissions.
Jiorgite is looking to advance position but Ali won't allow it.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jiorgite seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ali does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Ali is trying to get back to full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ali can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jiorgite perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Greissi Jiorgite will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Jiorgite counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ali's guard now.

Ali really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jiorgite. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jiorgite is trying for a kimura here. Ali looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Jiorgite wins by kimura!
