Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Kaeo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kaeo comes to the cage accompanied by On Fire. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dan Kaeo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken Li! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Chris Saunders and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kaeo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Li tries to avoid it but Kaeo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Li to the ground. Li escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A combination from Kaeo does no damage. Li fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kaeo to the ground. Li is now in Kaeo's guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Kaeo wants to get back to his feet but Li is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Kaeo tries to land a sweep but no joy. Kaeo is pulling down on Li's head. It's preventing any offense from Li, at least for the moment.
Dan Kaeo has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Horrible takedown by Kaeo or perhaps it was just good defense by Li which made him look bad. Li moves out of range of the body kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Li tries to clinch up but Kaeo circles away and keeps his distance. Sloppy strikes from Kaeo. Those never looked like landing. Kaeo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Li circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Kaeo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Li throws a leg kick which misses Kaeo's front leg but catches the back leg as Kaeo tries to avoid it. A chopping leg kick lands by Li. Kaeo is breathing heavily. Li throws a head kick that misses. Kaeo scores with a head kick.
Li scores with a punch to the head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Li drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Li decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kaeo to his feet. Dan Kaeo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Li shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Li slows the pace down in half guard.

Ken Li has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Li throws out a leg kick but Kaeo moves out of range and Li only half commits. Kaeo lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Kaeo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Li circles away. Kaeo shoots in but no luck this time. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kaeo is defended easily by Li. Li tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Kaeo shoots and misses and Li counters with a takedown into side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Li working the ground and pound but Kaeo is defending the strikes. Li controls the position from side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Kaeo is trying to control Li's posture but Li avoids it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Ken Li wasn't active enough on the ground. Kaeo tries for a takedown but Li sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ken Li dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Li turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Kaeo throws a jab when Li was well out of range. A punch combination from Kaeo misses. Li fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kaeo, pushing him back against the cage. Kaeo pulls guard successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ken Li was stalling too much, according to the referee. Li shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kaeo is staying active underneath Li, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Kaeo looking for submissions off his back. Li throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Kaeo to regain full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kaeo working a defensive guard here.
Kaeo wants to stand up but Li is controlling him.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Ken Li wasn't active enough on the ground. A nice inside leg kick there by Li. That's going to slow Kaeo down. Kaeo throws a sloppy head kick and Li moves out of range easily. Li dives in and scores a takedown into Kaeo's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Li stands and steps away. Kaeo gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Li shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Li wants to control the pace but Kaeo is squirming around nicely. Li wants to control the action but instead Kaeo gets a body lock and reverses into Li's guard! Nice work! Li wants to stand up but Kaeo is controlling him. Li looking for a sweep. Not yet Li, not yet.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Dan Kaeo just wasn't active enough. Kaeo gets caught flat footed, as Li shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kaeo has his feet on Li's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Li looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ken Li showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Kaeo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Kaeo shoots in but Li avoids the takedown attempt easily. Kaeo has his takedown stuffed and Li counters with a single leg into guard. Kaeo didn't expect that. Li throws a big right hand that misses. Li looking to sit in guard and control but Kaeo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Kaeo trying to control but Li is working from the bottom. Kaeo throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kaeo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Kaeo postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Kaeo throws a big elbow that misses. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Li can do anything to dispel that myth. Li is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Kaeo trying to control but Li is working from the bottom. Kaeo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Li keeping moving, preventing Kaeo from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
We're going to have a standup here because Dan Kaeo wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Kaeo forces Li back against the cage and clinches. Kaeo tries to circle away but Li has him pinned against the cage. Li misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Kaeo.
Kaeo wants to take the fight to the mat but Li manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Kaeo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kaeo misses with a knee to the head. Kaeo wants a takedown but no success here.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Li drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Li is looking to stand up but Kaeo won't let him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Li stands up from Kaeo's guard - Li perhaps looking for a knockout. Dan Kaeo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Li throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Li clinches. Li prevents a takedown attempt there.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kaeo tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Li just stands there and leans against the cage. Kaeo tries to pull guard but Li holds him up against the cage and eventually Kaeo drops back down to his feet.
Kaeo is trying to drag Li to the mat but Li just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Li scores with a knee to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Both guys are working to get underhooks. Li connects with a nasty looking knee right to Kaeo's face.

Li throws a leg kick which misses Kaeo's front leg but catches the back leg as Kaeo tries to avoid it. Li lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kaeo misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kaeo has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Li. Ken Li is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Kaeo takes a head kick and keeps coming.
And that's the end of the fight! Ken Li comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Li has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
