The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hill shoots for a takedown but JohnnySeed saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hill tries to clinch up but JohnnySeed circles away and keeps his distance.

JohnnySeed keeps the fight on the outside.
Hill rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but JohnnySeed moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Bret Hill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

JohnnySeed stuffs the takedown.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
JohnnySeed throws the kick towards the body but Hill avoids it.
Hill shoots in but JohnnySeed avoids the takedown attempt easily.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Hill is trying to work for a single leg takedown but JohnnySeed pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Hill jumps guard and drags JohnnySeed to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

JohnnySeed connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Hill some visible discomfort.
Hill is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Hill could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
JohnnySeed creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Hill sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Hill is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked JohnnySeed off and has taken his back!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hill is cranking JohnnySeed's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for JohnnySeed! He's tightened the choke and JohnnySeed is tapping out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Bret Hill!
