PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ultimate Warrior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ellis comes to the cage accompanied by Lana Del Rey - Video Games. Warrior has chosen Ultimate Warrior Entrance as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Ellis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ultimate Warrior!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Lou da Vinci and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Warrior takes the fight into the clinch.

Warrior has picked Ellis up - he's going for a ride! Warrior dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
It looks like Warrior is going to stand back up.
Warrior frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Ellis wants to control but Warrior is having none of it.
Warrior controlling from the full mount.
Warrior fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!


It looks like Frank Ellis has been cut.
Ellis is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Warrior content just to control the position here.

Ellis defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Warrior.
Warrior connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Warrior takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
It looks like Warrior might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Warrior stands up from mount. Strange move.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ellis misses with a takedown

and Warrior holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Warrior escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Warrior bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Warrior looks up at the clock and then as Ellis takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Warrior smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!


Ellis is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Warrior has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Warrior clinches up against the cage.
Warrior holding his opponent close, against the cage.

Warrior has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ellis uses from the top position.
Warrior striking off his back but it's not causing Ellis any problems.

Warrior pushes Ellis off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Frank Ellis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Warrior drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Oh Ellis is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Warrior staying calm.
Ellis seems to have got his legs back now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Let's hope that Warrior has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Ellis is looking to regain half guard here but Warrior keeps moving and retains side control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ellis can't do much from the bottom here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ultimate Warrior dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Frank Ellis's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Ellis swinging wildly here.

Ellis gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Warrior with a nice head shot there.
Warrior content to stall in guard here.
Warrior makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Ultimate Warrior has got the better of the ground game so far.
Ellis can't keep his opponent in guard - Warrior advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Warrior scores with a big shot! Ellis's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Ellis! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ultimate Warrior!
Ultimate Warrior spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
