Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gene St Piper! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Everth Cabaret! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cabaret will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cabaret tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and St Piper is able to avoid easily. Cabaret tries to land a leg kick but St Piper saw it coming and moves away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cabaret throwing shots but St Piper is blocking nicely. Cabaret lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. St Piper is staying active underneath Cabaret, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. St Piper moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Cabaret postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. St Piper is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cabaret is aware though and is defending well. Cabaret has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. St Piper working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Cabaret. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Gene St Piper will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Cabaret takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Cabaret looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? St Piper is fending him off so far but Cabaret persists. Nope, St Piper circles away and we're back to standing. St Piper loads up on a big right hand but Cabaret slips the punch. St Piper cracks Cabaret with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. St Piper closes the distance but Cabaret moves to the side and Cabaret counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. St Piper throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Cabaret stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Cabaret takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. An inside leg kick lands from Cabaret. St Piper takes a shot right to the bread basket. St Piper misses with a right hand and Cabaret counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Cabaret misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Gene St Piper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Everth Cabaret. Cabaret takes a swing at St Piper's ribcage but misses. St Piper uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Cabaret.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. St Piper is looking for a sweep. Cabaret is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Some bone on bone action there as St Piper checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. St Piper loads up on a big right hand but Cabaret slips the punch. Cabaret shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. St Piper manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Cabaret working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. St Piper bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cabaret's guard. Cabaret working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. St Piper doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. St Piper manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. St Piper wants to control from the top but Cabaret keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

St Piper thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. St Piper drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cabaret manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now St Piper has Cabaret in his guard. St Piper has his foot on Cabaret's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cabaret works his way back into a safe position though. Everth Cabaret has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Gene St Piper is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Everth Cabaret has got the better of the ground game so far. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. St Piper is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Cabaret trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. St Piper is trying to keep Cabaret in close.

St Piper is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Cabaret's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
