Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mick Maurizio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mookie Goya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maurizio comes to the cage accompanied by March of the Pigs (Valerna Remix). Mookie Goya will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mick Maurizio! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mookie Goya! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Mauricio Rocha and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maurizio throws a sloppy head kick and Goya moves out of range easily. Goya looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Goya tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Maurizio paws at him with a jab and circles away. Goya swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Goya tries to clinch but Maurizio is having none of it. Maurizio lands with a kick to the temple. Goya shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
It looks like Mookie Goya has been cut. Maurizio clinches up with Goya and pushes him back against the cage. Maurizio missing with knees to the body.

Goya wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Maurizio has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Goya clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Maurizio trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Goya doesn't escape. Goya looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. Maurizio just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maurizio seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Goya for as long as he can get away with. Goya trying to get back to his feet but Maurizio is in full control for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Maurizio trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Goya doesn't escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Maurizio landing with strikes. Maurizio has good solid back control here. Maurizio is working hard for the rear naked choke here.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Mick Maurizio just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Excellent takedown into side control there by Maurizio.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Maurizio decides to take the fight back to the feet. Maurizio shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Maurizio stands up out of the half guard. Maurizio fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Goya. Maurizio closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Maurizio tries a knee to the head but Goya blocks it.
Goya lands with a light punch inside. Maurizio looks to throw an elbow but misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mick Maurizio dominated that round. The cut man is working on Mookie Goya's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Mookie Goya seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Maurizio changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Goya looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Maurizio decides to stand up, so the ref orders Goya to his feet. Maurizio moves into range and connects with a jab. Goya looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Maurizio goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Maurizio misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Maurizio throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Maurizio could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Maurizio - that will leave a mark!
Maurizio scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Goya wants to get back to full guard. Maurizio escapes and gets back to his feet. Goya tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Maurizio tries a head kick but it misses.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Goya attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Maurizio lands with a kick to the ribs.
Goya takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Goya tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Maurizio lands with a slapping head kick. Goya misses with a wild combination.
Maurizio throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Goya gets caught flat footed, as Maurizio shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Goya is working an open guard so Maurizio takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Maurizio closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Goya is looking to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Maurizio moves nicely into side control. Maurizio has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Maurizio lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. A solid body kick from Maurizio. Maurizio fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Goya takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Maurizio lands a nice looking body kick. Maurizio plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Maurizio looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Mick Maurizio overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Goya wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Maurizio manages to pass to side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maurizio stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Maurizio closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Maurizio lands in his opponent's guard. Maurizio stops Goya from standing up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Maurizio decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Goya, up you get! A combination from Maurizio does no damage. Maurizio looks to land a body kick but Goya moved away. Maurizio is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Goya can do to turn this around? Goya falls off balance throwing a combination
and Maurizio counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Maurizio stands up out of the half guard. Maurizio throws a head kick that misses. Maurizio closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Maurizio misses with a knee to the head. Maurizio throws a knee to the head but misses.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Maurizio fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Goya rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Maurizio moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Goya throws a series of punches but Maurizio moves out of range. Maurizio fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Goya sprawls well initially but Maurizio persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Goya wants to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mick Maurizio dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Mookie Goya's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Goya throws a looping overhand right but Maurizio ducks down to avoid it. Maurizio displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Maurizio lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Goya is rocked! Maurizio lands with a big right hook that stumbles Goya - he's out on his feet here! Maurizio follows up with another monster hook that separates Goya from consciousness! Goya falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Maurizio stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
