The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lahey clinches up with Huhango and pushes him back against the cage. Lahey creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Huhango has had enough of the clinch but Lahey keeps him there for the moment. Huhango is trying to break free. Lahey gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Lahey is taking a breather. Huhango says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Huhango is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Huhango is trying to stand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Huhango is refusing to be controlled, as Lahey sits in half guard. Huhango pushes Lahey off looking to stand but Lahey dives back in and keeps control.
Lahey controlling the action here. Lahey throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Lahey thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Huhango's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Huhango trying to control from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Huhango works over Lahey's head and body with a nice combination. Lahey needs to keep his hands up - Huhango had a free shot at his head there. Lahey walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Lahey is rocked! Huhango lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Oh Lahey is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Huhango throws an overhand right that drops Lahey like a sack of potatoes! Huhango dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Huey Huhango!
