0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Zack Tyson! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Washington chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Tyson can pounce on him.
Washington thows a leg kick but Tyson checks it and Tyson counters with a leg kick. Tyson moves into the clinch successfully.
Tyson stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Tyson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Tyson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Washington defends it nicely. Washington displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Tyson tries to close the distance and clinch but Washington swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Washington with a lazy takedown attempt and Tyson counters with a nice double leg into guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Tyson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Washington looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Tyson has picked Washington up and slammed him! Washington can't keep hold of the triangle and Tyson manages to pass to side control! Washington is breathing heavily. Washington managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Tyson.

Washington struggling a bit here. Tyson creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Washington sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Washington tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tyson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Washington somewhat. Tyson leaves Washington with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Victor Washington. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tyson throws a nice outside leg kick. Tyson looking for a takedown here - he's got it. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tyson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Tyson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Tyson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Washington swats him away and circles back towards the center. Washington shoots in but no luck this time. Tyson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Washington. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Tyson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Washington manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Tyson gets a clinch. Washington is looking for a takedown. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Zack Tyson dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Tyson throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Washington. Washington throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Tyson's head. Tyson wants to clinch up but Washington keeps it at a distance. Tyson is looking to clinch. Washington misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Washington shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Tyson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Tyson. Tyson unloads a knee to the mid-section. Tyson lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Tyson pulls Washington into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Washington is looking to reverse the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Washington is working hard here to advance position. Washington taking punishment in the form of punches.

It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Tyson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Tyson throws a head kick that misses. Tyson gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Zack Tyson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Washington showed some decent athleticism there. Tyson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Zack Tyson has got the better of the ground game so far. Washington stands up and beckons Tyson to join him on the feet. Tyson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Washington shoots for a double leg takedown but Tyson sprawls well. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tyson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Washington looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Tyson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Washington uses from the top position. Tyson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Washington is controlling him. Washington wants to control from the top but Tyson keeps moving. It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.
