Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gaylord Focker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Liam Machin!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Russell Pearce and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machin misses with the combination.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Machin, as that shot connected.
Some bone on bone action there as Machin checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
A slow jab from Machin misses its intended target.
Focker fails with an attempt to clinch.
Machin throws a big shot that misses.
Focker clinches with his opponent.
Machin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Machin lunges at Focker with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Focker's hand.
Focker misses with a combination
enabling Machin to counter with a crisp jab.
A good leg kick by Focker.
Focker misses with a double jab.
Machin takes a swing at Focker's ribcage but misses.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Focker misses the shot to the body.
Focker fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Focker defending well as Machin loads up on a big left hand.
Machin shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Focker eats them both and turns towards Machin to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Focker tries a head kick but it misses.
Machin gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Machin managing to block the knees to the body from Focker.
Focker tries to land a knee to the head but Machin blocks with his arms.
Focker is trying to break free.
Machin lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Focker backwards.
Focker trying to land knees to the body.
Machin pulls Focker into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Focker is sitting in close to Machin's body. Machin has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Focker is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Focker is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Machin.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Liam Machin!
