The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Summers closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Sonnen did well to prevent Summers getting side control.

Summers seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sonnen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Summers is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sonnen is just riding it out for now. Summers eventually gives up the hold.

Sonnen manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Summers throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sonnen shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Summers throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Sonnen.

It looks like Nate Sonnen has been cut.
