Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leandro Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adem Tas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adem Tas is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Leandro Rua! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Adem Tas! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tas closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rua circles away. Rua closes the distance and clinches. Tas gets a trip takedown into half guard. Rua trying to control from the bottom.
Tas decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Tas looks for a takedown but Rua sprawls well. Adem Tas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rua closes the distance and pushes Tas back into the cage. Rua changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Tas fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Rua tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Tas manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rua moves to clinch but Tas breaks away and Tas counters with a head kick. Rua fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Rua tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tas paws at him with a jab and circles away. Tas tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rua swivels and escapes. Leandro Rua has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adem Tas. Tas swats away the attempt to clinch by Rua. Rua has closed the distance and engaged Tas in a clinch.
Tas escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Tas closes the distance and clinches up with Rua, looking for a takedown. Tas pushes Rua against the cage but Rua circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Tas misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Tas pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Rua pushes Tas up against the cage in a clinch. Rua manages to break the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Rua looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Tas is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Tas stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Rua.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A chopping leg kick lands by Rua. Rua tries to clinch there but Tas circles away.
Rua closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Rua breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Rua feints and as Tas raises his hands in defense, Rua changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rua trying to control the position from guard on top but Tas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tas looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Tas gets caught napping as Rua dives in and scores a takedown. Tas manages to retain guard. Rua might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Rua drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rua jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Tas can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rua controls the pace. Rua pushes down on Tas's leg and manages to get into half guard. Tas misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Tas keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Rua content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Rua is keen to just control but Tas is a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rua is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Tas defends it well. Rua prevents Tas from improving his position. Rua wants to control but Tas is keeping him busy. Rua landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tas looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Tas is breathing heavily. Rua wants to work for an arm triangle but Tas is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Rua is keen to just control but Tas is a slippery customer. Rua is working for a kimura but Tas is defending it quite comfortably.

Rua is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Tas is just riding it out for now. Rua eventually gives up the hold.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rua scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Rua looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Rua is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Rua passes the guard and advances to mount! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Rua looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Leandro Rua dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Tas shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rua sprawls well. Rua wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Tas gets slowly back to his feet. Tas throws a head kick that misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rua tries to close the distance and clinch but Tas swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Rua closes this distance looking for a takedown but Tas circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tas tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rua swivels and escapes. Tas takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Tas scores with a head kick.

He's pushed Tas's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Leandro Rua has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adem Tas. Rua tries for a takedown but Tas sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Tas tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Rua tries to clinch up but Tas circles away and keeps his distance. Rua avoids the head kick by Tas.
Rua shoots in but Tas avoids the takedown attempt easily. A punch combination from Rua misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rua buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Rua tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tas swats him away and circles back towards the center. Rua has managed to clinch.
Rua breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Tas avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Tas would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Rua has his feet on Tas's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Leandro Rua is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Tas stuffs the takedown attempt from Rua. Rua gets slowly back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Leandro Rua showed his dominance in that final round. Well Rua has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
