Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kyle Cong! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dale Rossi! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Colin Fray and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cong closes the distance and pushes Rossi back into the cage. Cong tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Rossi smiles and moves away.
Rossi will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Cong misses the body punch and Rossi counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Cong is lucky that one didn't land flush. Kyle Cong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rossi tries to clinch but Cong is having none of it. Rossi misses with a takedown attempt - Cong sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Cong keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Kyle Cong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dale Rossi. Rossi fails to land the takedown. Cong forces Rossi back against the cage and clinches.

Rossi creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Cong sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Cong wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Rossi landing strikes. Rossi wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cong, who protects the arm well. Rossi misses with the ground and pound. Cong is trying to buck Rossi off.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rossi lands a nice forearm strike. Rossi in side control, throwing shots but Cong defends. Cong parries the strikes from Rossi easily there. Rossi is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Cong to escape.

That's seven minutes gone in the round. Rossi working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Cong bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Rossi throws a head kick but Cong moves out of range.
Rossi tries to clinch but Cong is having none of it. Cong will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kyle Cong is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Cong fails to land with a series of punches.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Sloppy strikes from Cong. Those never looked like landing. Cong wants to clinch. Rossi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cong tries to avoid it but Rossi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cong to the ground. Cong escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Cong avoids the head kick by Rossi.
Cong thuds his right hand into Rossi's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Cong falls off balance throwing a combination
and Rossi counters with an outside leg kick.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Rossi takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Cong swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rossi tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cong sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rossi somewhat. Rossi circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cong misses with a double jab.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cong goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Rossi tries a head kick but it misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dale Rossi dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Cong throws a right hand that Rossi ducks under and follows up with a left that Rossi also avoids with ease. Cong throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A head kick by Cong misses and Rossi counters by clinching up. Rossi tries for a takedown but Cong manages to get underhooks.
Rossi jumps guard but Cong turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Rossi has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Cong clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Rossi throws a series of strikes and Cong wriggles onto his back, so he's now mounted. He's in real trouble here. Rossi throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Cong because Rossi loaded up on that one. Cong trying desperately to get to his feet.

Rossi cracks Cong with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Cong taking shots to the head. Rossi misses with a head shot. Rossi throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Cong is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rossi lands a heavy elbow. Poor strikes thrown by Rossi there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Rossi has hold of Cong's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Cong manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Rossi landing strikes, looking to finish! Rossi throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Rossi swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Cong is now in Rossi's guard. A big mistake from Rossi there, giving up the dominant position! Rossi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cong doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cong manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kyle Cong is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Rossi. Rossi on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Cong tries to bum rush Rossi with a series of wild strikes but Rossi uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Cong misses with a jab to the body
and Rossi counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Rossi has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Cong after a bit of a struggle. Cong wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Rossi prevents a takedown attempt there.

That's six minutes gone in the round. Rossi shoots in for a takedown but Cong shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Cong throws a lazy uppercut
and Rossi counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Rossi. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cong manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Cong misses with a wild body shot. Cong tries to close the distance and clinch but Rossi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Cong leaves Rossi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Rossi has his takedown stuffed letting Cong counter with a right hand. Cong is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Rossi closes the distance and clinches up with Cong, looking for a takedown. Rossi pushes Cong against the cage but Cong circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Cong defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rossi. Cong lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Rossi is looking to clinch but Cong is avoiding it.

Rossi changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Cong fights it off and pushes away nicely.

That's eight minutes gone in the round. Rossi takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Cong throws a right and a left that both miss. Rossi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cong but Cong pushes him off and we're back to square one. Cong swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Rossi counters with a stiff right hand. Good shot there by Cong. Cong swings for the body but Rossi moves out of range.
Cong jabbing away but nothing is landing. Cong throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Cong lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Rossi dodges the punch combination from Cong.
Cong misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rossi fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Cong to the ground. Rossi is now in Cong's guard. Rossi wants to pass the guard but Cong is keeping the position. Cong wants to get back to his feet but Rossi is in a dominant position and won't allow it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that's the end of the fight! Dale Rossi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Rossi has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Dale Rossi wins by unanimous decision! In his post fight interview, Dale Rossi gave a big smile as he said 'I AM ALSO LOOKING FOR ALUMINIUM SO CAN YOU GUYS SAVE YOUR CANS AFTER THE SHOW FOR SCRAP METAL??!'.
