Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roy Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roy Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sean Murphy! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Hugh Johnson and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murphy tries to clinch but Gracie is having none of it. Gracie drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Gracie is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Murphy is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Murphy struggling a bit here. Gracie working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gracie goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Murphy has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Gracie but great work by Murphy. Gracie is trying to control Murphy's posture but Murphy avoids it. Murphy controls the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Murphy is trying to ground and pound but Gracie uses the momentary lack of control by Murphy to regain half guard. Murphy tries to stand and escape but Gracie is controlling the position. Gracie looking for submissions off his back. Gracie tries to get to full guard but Murphy has control of the leg. Murphy wants to get back to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gracie. Murphy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gracie looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

This has been an exciting period of action! Gracie has his feet on Murphy's thighs here. He's pushed Murphy off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Murphy screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Roy Gracie! Roy Gracie spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
