The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Davis closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Davis throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Samson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Davis rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

It looks like Mark Davis has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Samson fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Davis looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Samson uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Davis has time to react.
Samson scores with a shot to the body.
Davis takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Davis moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Samson drops Davis with a big left hand and mounts him. Davis is in big trouble!

Samson softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Davis is out cold! Samson jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!
