Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Royce Gracie JR!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mario Marroquin!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie JR shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Marroquin pinned against the cage. Marroquin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gracie JR looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Marroquin misses with a straight left.
Gracie JR throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Marroquin's waist but Marroquin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gracie JR off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Royce Gracie JR. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gracie JR shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Marroquin defends it nicely.
Marroquin takes a swing at Gracie JR's ribcage but misses.
Marroquin cracks Gracie JR with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Gracie JR looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Marroquin finish him?
It looks like Royce Gracie JR has been cut.

Gracie JR ducks under a wild hook from Marroquin.
Marroquin throws a predictable looking body shot
and Gracie JR counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Marroquin can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Gracie JR throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Marroquin is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Gracie JR throws a strike but Marroquin rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Gracie JR drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Gracie JR as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Marroquin screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Gracie JR! Nice submission victory there!
