Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Seany Scholes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Ashe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scholes comes to the cage accompanied by Wonderwall - Oasis. Ashe is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Jimi Hendrix-Purple Haze. Seany Scholes has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Seany Scholes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Josh Ashe! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Andrew Berry and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scholes throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ashe's waist but Ashe gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Scholes off to one side. Scholes looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Scholes looks for a takedown but Ashe sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Seany Scholes. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ashe shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Scholes pinned against the cage. Scholes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Ashe looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Scholes is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Scholes had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ashe defends it easily. Ashe with a flurry of punches that miss. Ashe postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scholes is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ashe accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Ashe missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Scholes is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Scholes has momentary wrist control but Ashe slips an elbow through the middle. Ashe throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Scholes works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Ashe makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ashe working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ashe stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Scholes has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Ashe manages to get his head free but now Scholes has transitioned to an armbar! Ashe grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Scholes! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Seany Scholes! Our winner, Seany Scholes, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
